Founder member of Milano Saxophone Quartet, he has an intense concert activity in Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Chile, Serbia, Germany and Spain.
With Milano Saxophone Quartet he has recorded 3 CD’s: “Musica Ficta” for Ars Produktion, “Rispetti e Strambotti” for Azzurra Music and “Skylines” for Ambiente Audio.
He performed with Teatro alla Scala, Orchestra sinfonica G. He has played in prestigious concert halls and theatres such Teatro alla Scala, Philharmonie Berlin Kammermusiksaal, Teatro Rossini di Pesaro, Teatro Gentile di Fabriano, Teatro Pergolesi di Jesi, Teatro Lauro Rossi di Macerata, Teatro civico di Alghero, Teatro Ristori di Verona, Teatro civico di Schio, Teatro Secci di Terni, Teatro Comunale di Vicenza, l’Auditorium di Milano, Teatro Zandonai di Rovereto, Palazzo Marino, Palazzina Liberty di Milano and Filarmonica di Trento.
He has been Professor at Conservatory F. Morlacchi of Perugia and he’s currently teaching saxophone at secondary school in Lazzate (Monza).
He received his bachelor’s degree at the Conservatory G. Verdi of Milan under the guidance of Mario Marzi with top marks and distinction, and his master at Conservatory G. Rossini of Pesaro under the guidance of Federico Mondelci with top marks and distiction.
Stefano Papa has participated in masterclasses with Mario Marzi, Jean-Marie Londeix, Eugene Rousseau, Marco Gerboni, Anders Paulsson, Tino Tracanna, Fabio Petretti, Massimiliano Damerini and Enrico Bronzi.
He has been artistic director of Musica Per La Vita Festival in Milan.
